Rachel has over 20 years of commercial experience within the dynamic Life Sciences market sector, where innovation and technology development are critical to driving sustained business performance. After leaving York University in 1989 with a Biology degree, Rachel’s career commenced within the sales team of Amersham International (now GE Biosciences). She then held various senior level positions within product and strategic marketing before becoming the UK & Ireland Sales Director for PerkinElmer, who are also market leaders within Life and Analytical Sciences.
In 2007 Rachel began to work with start-up and high growth organisations by delivering business support and consultancy services across a range of business sectors. She firmly believes that supporting the effective commercialisation of innovative ideas and technologies will help aid the UK’s economic development and increasing the provision of bespoke, supportive environments for early stage developing organisations will enhance new business survival rates.
Rachel leads and manages the business support delivered in our network of centres. She has developed and is currently running a number of outreach business support initiatives branded Spark. The primary aim of the Spark initiative is to ignite entrepreneurialism and help established businesses to take their next growth step; in order to boost the local business community surrounding the centre.
