Management Accountant

Oxford Innovation operates a network of centres that provide flexible office and laboratory space and business support services to companies throughout the UK. Our clients are start-ups, high growth SMEs, investors and public sector organisations that contract with us to deliver innovation centres and programmes to business. We are now seeking a pro-active Management Accountant to join our friendly central finance team based at the Oxford Centre For Innovation.

About the role

Major objectives of the role:

• To prepare, develop and analyse key financial information to ensure that the organisation’s management makes well-informed decisions to drive future stability, growth and profitability whilst establishing and maintaining financial policies and management information systems.
• To produce timely, accurate management information for the organisation, consolidate budget and forecast/business plan information and to assist with year-end processes and statutory accounts preparation.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts for a portfolio of Innovation Centres. Including Balance Sheet reconciliations
• Assist with budgeting and forecast preparation
• Liaise with the client’s Auditors regarding financial information in order to pre-plan for audit file preparation
• Preparation of audit file for the client
• Liaising with internal and external customers
• Invoices to Centre owners and/or funders
• Preparation/reconciliation of rates payments from occupancy records
• Analysis of rates reports
• Preparation of occupancy reports
• VAT returns/reports
• Management and main point of contact for Finance System queries
• Payment run reviews and sign off
• Other ad hoc duties reasonably requested by your Line Manager

What we're looking for

Experience:

• Studying or looking to start ACCA/CIMA/ACA
• Proven experience in a similar role
• Good working knowledge of Excel
• Understanding of modern management information systems

• A confident and personable individual with excellent interpersonal skills
• The ability to communicate tactfully and persuasively at all levels with all types of people with both financial and non-financial information

Hours of Work:

• Full time hours of 37.5 hours per week worked between Monday and Friday, but flexibility required to meet the needs of the business.
